Photos in my gallery! (Well, 3)

Well everyone, as prompted by $Heidi, I finally have some photos in my gallery! Yay! Now, they're extremely old and horribly scanned (as they're all traditional b/w prints) and I've progressed (I think) a bunch since then, however, I'm now on a roll and will be uploading a bunch more this weekend! By Christmas, I'll have so many photos in my gallery, you'll won't be able to keep up.

Silliness aside, because I have so many old photos that haven't been kept in the best condition, I have to go through the tedious (but fun!) process of retouching them in Photoshop. I want to buy a negative scanner so I can work directly on them in Photoshop, but that will have to wait until next year. Also on my wishlist for next year is a vintage Hasselblad, a Seagull and something I can't believe I've never invested in, a digital SLR! Any suggestions on which would be the best to purchase would be greatly appreciated!!!! I was always thinking I'd go with the Canon 40 or 50D or even the 5D, but lately I've been considering Nikons. Which should I choose?!?
